Hi Im deb from Mount Eliza victoria Australia. I have 4 chickens - one of which has just adopted four chicks to grow my flock. My girls are spoilt with lots of free ranging in my garden. I have had lots to learn and am constantly amused by the chickens. They are alot of fun and alot of work.

Hi Deborah and welcome to BYC

Here's a link to your country thread - https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/australia-six-states-and-that-funny-little-island.598568/

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

All the best

I've had/have a few of the same...RIR, SS, Welsummer. All great birds (especially love the SS, they're so pretty).

If you ever want to share photos, they would be fun to see!
