Newby to ducks help

Hi all I'm a newby on here and new to keeping duck i have 3 call ducklings and 2 larger ducklings I have a large area at the bottom of my back yard which backs on to a canal will they come Back if I let them onto the canal theres a few wild malards on there love some help

That's a good question for folks on the duck thread. I have heard that domesticated ducks - meeting wild ones on a pond, may fly off and follow them.

Also if the avian flu is still circulating, it is generally spread from wild birds to domestic ones. Your's might be safer if you have your own kiddy pool or something to swim in away from the canal
