My name is Tami. My husband, son and I live in Jupiter Farms. New to the chicken business and loving it. I would like to support my local businesses. Does anyone know of any local businesses or private owners that would be interested in selling some hens? Preferably hens that are decent egg layers.

Welcome to the site. New myself. A couple of suggestions on finding local poultry breeders. Look for farmers markets or anyone selling eggs in your area. They will know of good sources for quality hens. Also, the farm supply stores sell a lot of chicks in the spring. I don't buy a lot of birds that way but several people I know love the Isa Browns.
