Hi

I am brandy new here. I live in the Philippines but visiting the America till the middle of August.

I have raised Kabir Chickens for consumption. But would like to start doing the egg route. How are the Kabir eggs to taste?

Welcome to BYC!

I have never heard of these birds either! But good luck with all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!

Did a search on 'Kabir' chickens, and they are promoted as a good dual purpose chicken - providing excellent meat and eggs. They are said to be a very popular bird in the Philippines. Frankly from the pictures presented they look like a non standardized crossbred bird. Welcome to BYC, and good luck in your endeavors.

What you need to do is find Ozexpat(user name) he posts daily on the "OLD FOLKS" thread. He commutes weekly between California and the Philippines. Put "Old Folks: thread in the seach box.
Click on that and go to the last page of that long, thread. The higher the post number, the newer the responses are.

You will find ozexpat - you can post him through a question directed to him on Old Folks thread OR, you can send him a private message and he can respond to you in the same fashion. He probably knows all there is to know about chickens in the Philippines, as well as goats, water buffalo, etc. etc. He is a very nice man and extremely helpful to others.
