Hello family... I am a newcomer to this hen/chicken world but I have been wanting to have a couple of egg laying hens in my backyard and I am getting my feet wet; or rather how to proceed.
Where can I buy a couple of hens here in the Miami area and where can I read some introductory info?
Any info would be appreciated... Thanks.....

www.allaboutchickens.tk - BYC was a bit overwhelming for me at first too, this site was good for basics [IMG]

You can go to the buy ~ sell ~ trade section of BYC and post a wanted thread, or just take a gander and see if there is something you are interested in, or you can get some fertile eggs shipped to you and brood them out. [IMG] You can get chicks/eggs from a hatchery too, but you'll pay extra for only ordering a few.
