Stick to breeds with tight combs and small wattles and they will do well.
I ended up a Leghorn cross cockerel in my flock. He now has severe frostbite on his long wattles as he is dipping them in the fount waterer. He is in a lot of pain. I am at the point I hope they die and fall off and he will not have to suffer this again.
