My name is Lindsay and my family and I have had chicken since 2021. We moved from a suburban area to a rural area with six acres, our chickens love it! We got 11 new chicks this April (around 10 weeks old now).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have a total of 14 chickens right now
(3) What breeds do you have?
A variety
One Buff Orpington, Rhode islands reds, black sex links, Goldens, Australorps, Easter eggers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Their personalities, so far our Easter eggers are super sweet. I love the sounds they make and how they love being held and cuddled. We love fresh eggs - and our family loves them too!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I feel like I don't have time for hobbies! We have three young boys, I work per diem as an RN and help take care of my father (has a rare cancer) and more recently my brother (sudden health issues). My husband used to stay at home with our kids, but we swapped roles a few years ago!
