I dated a fellow ( high school) who told my dad that he hunted and cooked ducks. He brought some to give to Dad and Dad said they were Coots

and not a duck you could eat.

Ah, the Christmas coot. That's a handsome one. My ducks charge en masse any unauthorized critters that come near their pond - sandpipers, squirrels... Pretty funny. Merry Christmas! I hope 2016 will be filled with happy healthy birds!
