1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, new to chickens as of a couple weeks ago!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 5 chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
All 5 are Welsummer.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They offer such a peaceful escape. I love to watch them interact with each other, discover new things, and of course I love hearing their tiny chick sounds! (until of course their tiny chick sounds are not so tiny anymore)!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I do hand thrown pottery, teach yoga and meditation, hike & camp, and always have my nose in a book.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have two sweet cats, 5 kids, and am a director at a non-profit organization.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I came across BYC while researching resources as I prepared to bring my sweet chicks home!
