I gave my 5 week old girls some meal worms a couple of days ago and they went haywire!!! That was nothing compare to the laugh I got when we gave them a few strands of spaghetti last night - OMG - too funny. What entertainment!

The first time we gave our ladies mealworms they got so excited they ran into each other, walls and anything else. A couple days later, they did the same thing with spaghetti. It's amazing the type of entertainment they provide.

My pullets love worms from the compost bin and thawed corn from the freezer.

The other day, I picked up a paver to move it and a huge potato bug was underneath it. I hate those things! I threw it into the run. I thought the chicks would run! Never! One picked it up and ran with this huge thing in her beak. The others chased her squacking (sp) and like you said, running into everything. One finally got a leg, another the head, and the one with the body found a corner to peck it into parts.

Uggg...........funny but disgusting!

I've found another treat that should be given in smaller amounts. They love it so much they will jump into the air and snatch it from you hand.

Trix are for kids, but KIX are for chicks!

I think it gives them the same crunch as a June bug.
