Good day to all,

Now owned by 6 bantam chickens, as well as 2 golden retrievers. Wife and I are now 5 weeks along with them and have moved them to our coop. If your not familiar with Newfoundland it's cold! But only for 10 months of the year. Our walkway was completely iced over on the way to check the girls today, came back in and cooked them some warm oats, all are doing well with transition from brooder to coop given the temps. Looking forward to the wealth of info here!

I lived in Newfoundland when I was a kid!! There used to be a military base in Argentia, my dad was stationed there right before it closed down. I have very fond memories of Newfoundland, we would go to St John's periodically for trips to a bigger city. It was so safe on the base where we lived, the biggest worry my parents had for us were all the moose running around! It was a wonderful place to live and we were so sad to leave. Welcome to BYC!

Greetings and :welcome! Great to have you in our community! Wow! I can't even imagine an icy morning where I'm at for another month or more! Best wishes to you and your flock and thanks for joining BYC! :)

Hello and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. Thankfully, the words "cold" and "ice" never appear in climatic references here - they usually just relate to drinks

Great to hear that you chicks have transitioned to the coop and are doing well.

Best wishes
