Newish Chicken Keeper

Hi,
I am from Washington State close to Seattle.
I have Dominic’s, Amerucana, some Buckeyes, and one Speckled Sussex. I would have two S. Suxxex but one was a rooster. We gave him to a local feed store that rehomes the roosters.
I have had chickens before 10 or more years ago.
I am married to the same man for 45 years.
We have kids (grown) and Loads of Grandkids.
The Dominic’s are 5 months old and started laying about two to three weeks ago.
The Dominic’s eggs so far are what I consider small. I hope they get bigger, but it is fine if they don’t bigger.
I am enjoying having the chickens.

Hi Ann, it's nice to have you here with us! The first eggs of a new layer are typically smaller but will get somewhat larger as the girls mature.

Congrats on the first eggs! Yes the eggs will get larger as the gals mature, it takes a hen a year of growth to be fully grown.
