Hello everyone!
  1. I first had chickens while my family lived with my grandad in 2017. Had them for a few years before a raccoon got in and killed them all. We moved into a new house in September and inherited the previous owners chickens. So I’m not new per say, just new to being in charge.
  2. I currently have 8 hens.
  3. The previous owner didn’t know which breeds. 5 Black and 3 brown is all I know. Seem to lay very often and are late brown eggs.
  4. I really just love the chickens, and the fresh eggs are great, too.
  5. Video games, tv, DND podcasts, and cosplay.
  6. I live in Southeastern Ohio with my Aunt and her 2 young sons (6 and 3), my younger brothers (16 and 18), and my parents. Other pets include my dog, my moms dog, a bearded dragon, an axolotl, and two outdoor cats (also inherited from previous house owners). I’m 21 year old female and currently in my clinical rotation for my Medical Laboratory Technician degree.
  7. I’ve referred to this forum before, but now I’m in charge of taking care of the chickens (working on getting my brothers to help 🙄 lol) and I want to make sure I’m giving them the best life I can. I got some questions as I’m planning on getting chicks in the very near future.

Thank you! Is there a guide to outline exactly which questions to ask where, or do you just make your best guess on where it is appropriate?
