Thank you for the advice. I have them in an isolated room in the house, which is cool, so that is why I have the lamp on them. They seem to like it. No crowding, panting or anything. The strange thing I am noticing is that they are not gaining weight whatsoever. I see them eat and poop, but they feel light as a feather. The smell is terrible. I am waiting to hear back from MSU as far as a necropsy goes. Does the Department of Agriculture have state extensions? Would that go through our state university? I am hoping to hear back from them soon and treat those chicks like they have the pest in the meantime. They are my last item on the chores list and I take a shower and wash the clothes immediately. It is terrible to lose one after the other after the other.
