I've been thinking about getting chickens for a couple of years. I've heard that chickens are good at bug-control, and I am interested in doing some natural pest prevention for our llamas and goats. Recently my neighbor got some chicks, and ever since I saw them, I've been hooked. We found the BYC website and I drooled over the coop designs until my husband gave in and started building. 
I bought 10 chicks (not all the same age) from my neighbor's friend last week and I've been reading about chickens every time I get a chance to! I may try to post some pics to see if anyone has ideas about what kind of chicks I have. I look forward to learning from this great chicken community!
