Hi everyone, urgent advice needed if possible. I have a bantam Orpington chick that externally pipped on its own but stalled (24 hours +). I noticed through its exit hole that it appeared to have yellow mucus coming out of the beak (crop fluid?). I assisted the hatch which went fine, but the chick has a huge lump on the right side of its neck, about 2/3rd the size of its head. It is almost as if it is filled with gas. It does not extend towards the back of the head/neck etc, doesn't seem like a ruptured air sac either? The chick keeps making swallowing motions even though the yolk is fully absorbed.
My theory is that there is some sort of digestive system blockage and the chick has maybe been gulping air when it had externally pipped? I have not seen this before so if anyone has had a similar situation please let me know the outcome.
I am worried that it is a congenital issue that will not get better over time.

Sorry I'm unable to get photos at the moment.
