So my hen just hatched a baby chick and it looks to have some kind of eye infection. I have a Red Jungle Fowl who decided to hatch some chicks. I honestly did not think they would hatch so I just left her be checking on the eggs daily. She had one pip but a week later it’s still alive but still hasn’t even made a new crack? Anyways so another piped (unsure when) I’d say about yesterday morning. And I did my daily check and I thought the other egg had just wanted to try and hatch. 15 minutes later I check on my chickens (which I do hourly because I have some older chicks in with my adult chickens) and I search for the egg to make sure it’s still alive AND I CANT FIND IT!!! All I could here is chirp chirp chirp chirp, so I looked around AND 6 FEET AWAY IS A BABY CHICK LAYING NEXT TO ITS EGG!!! We still have no clue how it got there as I just checked on it 15 min ago.
Anyways so I have a one day old chick with an eye infection or something, please help I have horrible luck with hatching no matter how hard I try and I want this chicken to live as the father was one of my first chickens I’ve ever had (including 4 others and 3 hens).
