Hey everyone. I've got a chick that hatched but he's got some stuff still attached to his bum. It's actually keeping him attached to his eggshell. So he's flopping around dragging his shell around. Can he still be OK? Or is he doomed? Also, there was a lot of liquid when he kicked his way out.

Hello! The chick should absorb the sac into its abdomen soon (in theory.) But chicks with unabsorbed yolk sacs are at a disadvantage, they are usually weaker than other chicks and are susceptible to infection.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Any idea what this is on my chick? He or she hatched about 14 hours ago. He's still in incubator.
