Newly hatched Pekin- is this normal?

Hi everyone! My first and only Pekin made it to hatch today. We didn’t have great luck with any of the others unfortunately and lost quite a few between yesterday and today after they internally pipped. So here is our only surviving baby! I just want to know if the belly area looks ok or if there is something I need to do. Thanks!

Idk If thats normal or not, i think they consume the yolk for a few days. Is it dry and running around now?

That should resolve itself. He sure you give it a stuffed animal. Is there anyway you can get another chick for it?

Its abdomen area is still swollen, probably absorbing yolk into its system still, for some reason those who hatch this way often have a hard time keeping balance and fall onto their back. IME.

Keep the belly area clean, and help the duckling up as needed.

Thanks for the info! He’s doing great and very spoiled!! We didn’t have any place that had available ducklings so he’s been loving his little bed.
