Ghaniba
In the Brooder
Hi Folks,
Dave aka Ghaniba here. Just joined this place after it being recommended by a friend.
I grew up on a farm, with chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, horses, rabbits, etc.
Not so long ago, my wife decided she wanted chickens. So, chickens it was, and she got to pick out 12 little chicks. I suggested 12, thinking half would probably perish along the way... Well, wouldn't luck have it. Zero. We lost zero. Aaaand like most of these stories go, I was ill prepared for the speed at which these grew, and being 12 of them... They need some space! We moved them from a small tote, to a large tote in short order. I scrambled (pun intended) to build a brooder that would be large enough for them until the coop was built. Now, I've been running crazy trying to build this coop/run... The little birds are now VERY dusty and need to get out of my basement!
