If anyone is interested, just a reminder of the next three shows in Texas. The La Grange show is on March 7th, the Beaumont show is on March 28th, and the Fancy Feathers Show at New Braunfels is on April 4th.

Entry forms and other information regarding the Beaumont show can be found on my blog

Too late for entries, but one of Texas' largest poultry show events will be at the Stock Show on January 24-25, 2009. Held in conjunction with the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show, that makes it a bit more of a production to attend, but there will be a good number of birds on display.[IMG]

I inquired about the Abilene Poultry Assn. spring show while at the Bluebonnet Classic, and they are still pondering/strategizing about a date given that LaGrange took their usual last weekend in March. Stay tuned for more info on that one.

Oooops, sorry - meant to indicate Beaumont (which is the South Texas State Fair)...

Also, the Stock Show I was referring to is the Fort Worth Stock Show. As far as I know, San Antonio's Stock Show no longer has classes for Standard-bred poultry. Not sure why they quit, or when that occurred.
