I have 2 geese that like to nibble things. I'm fine with it mostly but I want to plant a lilac bush and Japanese maple tree. Will they eat them?

I have both and my geese haven’t shown interest in them, though geese are naturally curious so it doesn’t mean that they won’t.

I would put something around them to protect them from the geese for a while. New plants are delicate and my geese try to eat everything they can fit in their mouth...
