My name is Steve and I live in the NW Florida Panhandle. I've had chickens off and on for most of my 46 years. I've kept a little of everything but my main love is bantams. I got my first mixed ones from a Great Uncle who had them running loose on his farm. I remember visiting as a child and looking for nests in the old barns and flower beds in the yard. I got the hatchery catalogs and made my dream orders out when I couldn't afford to order and remember getting a Backyard Chickens magazine when it was little more than a pamphlet. I went several years without any but last spring ordered some Golden Seabrights which are my favorite and some easter egg bantams. I've got more Seabrights coming in a couple of weeks and after that I plan to be hatching my own again. I realize that I'm on a much smaller scale than a lot of members but it's nice to read about everyone's flocks and their experience.
