Not totally new. We've had egg-layers for about five years.

Seven.

Easter eggers, bard rock, and speckled sussex.

Hearing their egg-laying call, their perpetually dopey expressions, their social nature.

Hiking, visiting state parks, music, creative writing, blogging.

We live on about 2 acres in southern Indiana near Louisville, KY, half of it wooded. A couple, a child, a dog, a cat, 2 rats, tropical fish, and the chickens.
