(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
- Yes. I'm a first-time chicken parent and couldn't be more excited about it! I got three chicks about two months ago so I'm very new to the game.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
- Three lovely ladies (hopefully). One is looking a little roo-like so I've got my fingers crossed that I'll never hear a crow.
(3) What breeds do you have?
- A silver laced Wyandotte named Lucille, a gold laced Wyandotte named Edie, and a cream legbar named Ripley.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
- Tons and tons of google searches. Every question I had, the users of BYC had the most knowledgeable answers and I trust this site more than any other.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
- Aside from spending time with my new feathered family members, I enjoy backpacking, birding, and tending to my beehive. I love anything that allows me to be outside really!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
- I'm currently in school for occupational therapy in New Orleans, LA. While I do live in the city now, I grew up in the country, so getting chickens helps me reconnect with that part of my life as well as grow as an individual who is interested in a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.
