My ladies are behaving themselves again. Their nastiness seems to have been all my fault. After wavering back and forth I finally let the girls out of their run into the backyard. They are rewarding me with absolute devotion, nice manners, and less pigging out at the feeder. Why did I take so long? When I call them back to the run, they know they'll get a treat and come scurrying.
