Night roost

My bird are about 10 weeks old, and roost at night about 8 feet high. Will my hens be able to make the climb as they mature? I have a couple OEGB that basically fly up easy.The more rubenesque hens struggle to make the height.

Often it's not the getting up that causes problems, it's the getting down.
A ladder ramp of some sort will help the less sprightly hens get on the roosts at night.
The problem I and others have had is when it comes to getting off the roosts the chickens make a jump for it; they don't climb down the ramp.
Apart from the risk of wing injuries from catching on things in a crowded coop there are real risks of leg injuries and of course bubble foot caused by repeated impact.

I had the roost fairly high and noticed that too as Shadrach above says, I saw them fly in to the side wall of the coop when they jumped down so I lowered it.
As long as they have a roost for the night I don't think it bothers them.

When they come down in the morning it is really falling with style. Thanks Shadrach, I’ll make some adjustments.

No need to go so high with roosts.
