In my case, the dogs are not allowed outside without supervision. All of my dogs have had extensive training yet they also have all killed some of my chickens.
If you really want to know how he will act, there is only one way to find out. Hopefully a leash will be present as well. But even if he is a perfect angel with you there, does not mean he will still play nice when you aren't.
All dogs are different. They are individuals as we are and all have different tolerence levels. I don't think there is right answer to this question but only you will be able to figure out your answer as far as your dogs go.
