I have bucket water nipple setup for my chickens and it works great. My guineas are about 6 weeks old and have been using a regular dish type water dispenser. Will guineas use nipples?

So, did the guineas ever start using the nipple waterer?
My chicks were using it with the other still available, but since the guineas moved in, the water is not being consumed out of the nipple bucket at all.

I started my keets on water nipples at 3 weeks. I took the waterer out of the brooder and by the end of the day they were hitting the nipples. They have been in the coop for a couple weeks with the transplanted 5gal bucket and 5 nipples. Next up, 5 more nipples to add and feed via a 55 gallon plastic barrel.

All the Guineas that hang out at my house use a nipple waterer. I have 3 installed in a 3 gallon bucket, the chicks (now separated, not enough room) also use a nipple waterer.

They started off with 'normal' waterer's , but that was nasty as they would roost on top of it, I removed the waterer, installed the nipple waterer and later that day they were using it.....

I started mine out with a nipple water made from a coke bottle the nipple is in the cap. I put the bottom of another coke bottle with a cutout up the side for attachment to the water holding bottle, it looks like a laddle with a handle to catch the drips and give them some to start. Hung it with a piece of wire taped to it. All six of mine now drink with the rest.

I started mine on the nipple waterer at three weeks. I used a 1 liter seltzer bottle with the nipple in the cap. I hung it in their brooder and tapped it with my finger a few times to get their attention. It did not take long at all for them to come over and check it out and they began using it right away. They were very curious about it. They got the hang of it faster than the chickens did, which honestly surprised me!

Every time I see a thread titled "Nipple Waterer's" I just have to laugh at it..

Sorry.. Maybe not!

Good to know!

And StevenW, my mom and I giggled many times as we awaited our "chicken nipples" in the mail! I'm pretty sure Dad thought we were crazy.

Huh, huh, she just said CHICKEN NIPPLE. ;-)

My guineas will stick their heads into the chicken run to drink from my soda bottle nipple. The chickens look at them like they are crazy. I want to build a nipple system for them soon. I don't think you will have a problem getting them to drink from the nipple.
