Nipple waters

A neighbor had to replace the nipple water system in his layer houses, and he gave me a pile of these nipples. Will these work on gravity flow and will the be ok to use to water quail?

Most certainly they will work. There are many posts on how to use the nipples.

Some folks have simply installed them on the bottom of a bucket and others connected a bucket to a pvc system where the nipples are installed.

Yes they are made for a gravity fed system. I wonder why he replaced them and what he replaced them with?
