nipples installed

Just installed my h/nipples. Hope the girls get enough water.they seemed to figure it out pretty quickly. A whole 80degrees here in northern michigan

Got my dad to install these a few weeks ago its been working perfectly is so much easier to keep the water clean with the lid just placed ontop of the bucket as I found if the lid is shut tight it makes it harder for them to get the water out. Such a brilliant idea wish I had found out about them before I had bought 3 waterers!

I am amazed how quickly the chickens learned how to use the h/nipples. I swear less than 15min. Very smart critters indeed. A lot smarter than some people I know.lol

Sounds great. I was thinking about trying them. Now, what about winter, do they freeze?

They are so clever! have you taught yours any tricks? one of mine will get on my lap and jump when asked! all 8 of them come when i call them which is pretty handy!
Not sure if they freeze iv only had mine in a couple weeks or months and the weather has been lovely or thunder storms but no snow or ice as of yet but I cant see them having any problems

As far as I know if temps below freezing need a small heater in the bucket but nipples do not freeze. Not sure bout the vertical nipples though.

No tricks yet.lol. but do come a running when I holler for them with a handful of cracked corn
