Nippy duck- duck behaviour questions

So our lovely duck has recently started nipping ALOT

When we great her she nips whilst talking and her tail wiggling, when she gets treats, when we pet her after SHE climbed up onto our laps etc. It seems to be her go to thing. When she's mad about something it's a more obvious nip and twist along with her vocal tone changing.

Is the nipping at everything else a habit or is she permanently in a bad mood with us?

How do ducks interact with people, how do I know if she's content or annoyed etc. Our other girl is so placid and relaxed In comparison.

When our ducks were younger, they would investigate everything with their bills (while climbing onto us). The girls don't nip at all now though. Our drake Angus nips and tries to act all tough, but it's not something we worry about. What breed?

A cheeky mallard!
By her quacks I'm sure she's a girl? Could be wrong haha.

Sometimes she just nibbles around curiously but other times it's definitely a real nasty nip and twist when she's getting grouchy over things.

If she comes up onto my lap she'll often try and peck at my face which as you can imagine hurts. I can't work out if she's trying to be affectionate or hurt me!

We have dogs and cats and its a tap on the nose for them for unwanted behaviour.

Recently, one of our ducklings (Nibbler) has upgraded to a proper peck. So i've tapped him on the bill. Seems to have worked !
