ok, i have 15 hens that are all the same age. Lately some are picking on just one leggern. nearly killed her. Seperated her and she's back to fine health. now they've started on another leggern.
Do i have baked chicken for supper or what?

I have the same problem. That's chicken politics. Mine seem to be really nasty to one another at roosting time. They are always fighting for location on the roost.

If you can let them out to free range, it really helps. They leave each other alone when they foraging for bugs and stuff.

As long as there's no blood, I think they'll be o.k.

Maybe try to watch them for a couple of days you could have an aggressive hen that starts it and the others just join in at the sight of exposed skin/blood - in my experience chickens will really go after others that have a " bald " spot or an open wound. It's just instinct I guess. Good luck! and I hope you don't have to cull too many.

thanks for the advice - i've also been told to get a rooster and that should help but don't really know......
