I'll be there as well with blue laced red wyandottes, adults and chicks of various ages- probably unsexed at that point.
3 light sussex (1 cockeral/2 pullets)
2 black copper marans chicks
some silkies maybe- they will be newly hatched so we will see.
2 porcelain booted bantams hen and pullet

on the new hatchlings that are due on the 30th, yes, they should mostly be bearded. the smooth black is not.

Question about 'showing'. My uncle has recently been bitten by the chicken 'bug', and not only bought six of my hens, but also purchased 12 black jersey giant babies. They are now 4 months old and he is so proud! He asked me if he could bring some to show, so I just wondered if they could be shown at that young age?
I also told him he needed to get ahold of the book of standards...which he will promptly ignore, hmm...
Just curious.

they will need to be tested NPIP clean prior to showing and this can be done the day of the show (at the show)
I have found, if the bird doesn't look mostly like an adult, it won't win, probably won't place either unless it's the only one.
maybe he should go watch first, then show once he sees what's it's all about.

Any Poultry under the age of 1 yr. is entered as either a Cockerel or a Pullet. All birds must be tested by a State tester for Thyphoid by the NPIP ( National Poultry Improvement Plan). The state of Maine has just started Testing for the Avian Flu also.

There will be someone at the show to test your birds; cost is $10.00 I believe.

There is NO Fee for setting up a table. ALL BIRDS MUST HAVE WATER AND FOOD IN THEIR CAGES!
