NO 1 is posting!

I can resist the chicks until March 2 nd, cause they haven't come in at my store here in town.

I'll reply! I went out to feed my animals this morning, and took out some goodies (fresh spinach, lettuce, broccoli, apples, and some english muffins---i know, bread isn't good for them). Well, I stupidly threw it all around the big free-range pen before letting the chickens out, and because they didn't see me throw it, they couldn't figure out that there were goodies all over.

Hopefully the chickens will get some before the ducks, geese and goats eat it all!

Oh, I hope I can resist the feed-store chicks this year (I have 32 chicks already coming in April from Ideal). Last year I got 10 chicks from the straight-run pen because they were on sale for .79/ea.-----almost half were roos! If I get any this year, it will only be from the pullet pen!

My feed store needs to come on byc and read all the posts on having separate pens for pullets and cockerels and then separate their chicks so I can buy some pullets.

Mine dont have pullet pens.. I think i saved a chicks life at my feed store. She had pasty butt and i waited like a half hour, and they didnt do anything about it, so i went over and told someone and they finally took care of it!

Tell them to discount them if they don't want to care for them

If they're going to sell chicks(or any animal) they should know how to take care of them for as long as they have them. Poor chicks. My tractor supply had ducklings last year and they let them sit in their water dish. All of them looked sick and were shivering, and one was dead

They finally did something when me and another customer said something.

I've never had ducks but I know they shouldn't have a dish big enough to fit in when that young. Especially if no one is watching them.
