It "breathes" oxygen through the egg shell, which is why it's imperative to have vent holes in your incubator. They don't breathe until they break the shell.

I'm not sure what you mean by no air sac- did you candle the egg before it pipped and saw that the entire egg was black or something?

yes, it was black, but somehow the air sac disappeared. I lost several and now i cant remember if that one made it or not. but thanx
