LOL, this is a great thread. And thanks for the buy/sell/trade plugin, I got some eggs coming at the end of February! But I'm not taking chances since this is my first go at hatching- mine are going in an incubator, not my boobs!

Thanks, this is my first time hatching too. Wanted to try something a little different..and boy did I ever. Not too sure what the future will hold for doing it again like this

What type of eggs did you get?

I contacted someone who has an add up right now for paying for shipping mixed breed eggs (and she went over the breeds) and I paid for 6 khaki campbell eggs and the six chicken eggs. 12 eggs total. This is perfect for me, since I wanted the khakis anyway that were actual layers, and I had no idea what breed of chickens I wanted to this mixed surprise is right up my alley. I love adventure! Price was great too for a first go.

First time too, with the boobs??! That is just too much, I love it! You're pretty cool in my book.

I have seven chickens in all, 5 laying hens and 2 roosters. The girls are all different; a white Jersey Giant, a Huge Australorp (who is bigger than the Jersey Giant, don't quite get that), an Araucana, a Silver laced Wyandotte, and a black silkie. One boy is a Frizzle and the other is a pure bred blue silkie.

And this all started because I wanted ONE white silkie

....and by the way, I am still waiting for the white silkie LOL!

I know I want large chickens like the jersey giant... that's funny that your Australorp is bigger! Mine all started with a pair of rouen ducklings.. gateway animals for me.

There was a time in my late teens early 20's when I wouldn't have had enough boob to incubate even a quail egg. Now I have enough probably for a goose egg or two post two girls. I prefer what I have today. LOL
