Thats great...upload some pics when they hatch...i too had my broody hen on 15 eggs..its day 10

Oh wow, that's awesome !! Don't know what I would do with that many chicks

Heya last night I checked on my hens and one of my miniature silkies has gone broody but I can not hatch any chicks at the moment as its all rain and hale over here I am waiting until the spring and then I am going to hatch and had to try and break her from her broodyness and she did not like It I went and checked on her a miniute ago and she is on the roost so hope fully it has worked my fingers are crossed for BB and her eggies

Day #9 My egg "fluffy" the eye and body are much bigger today and the embryo is fish-tailin lol
I don't think that the photo does the embryo justice! My hubby is not a patient photographer nor very talented! This was one of 6 pics he took before burning my fingers!!!!!
I will be candling the eggs under my hen soon...

I didn't want to hatch in the spring because I didn't want to use the beastly red light when it starts getting warm

Candled my other eggs. All have vessels except for the one I put under her yesterday lol. Even the 2 I took outta the fridge! My crazy RIR won't lay in any other nest but the one that Helen is being broody in lol. So Helen had a big RIR egg under her too...no chance of it being fertile
All my eggs are due to hatch before I go up to Michigan...DH can handle baby chicks, not hatching ones lol
