In addition to just feeding them All Flock, Flock Raiser or a good grower formula, you can feed them eggs.

Just wanted to mention my experience. My store was out of my usual chick feed so I got a different brand. Turns out the pieces were bigger, and my chicks either couldn't or wouldn't eat it. Put in in my food processor to make it smaller and that seems to help. If you find pellets only, but want smaller crumbles this could be an option.

Hey, is that cheaper than all flock..I am paying 18 bucks for all flock..before I got my rooster I was paying 10 for layer pellets. Im being punished for having a man in my flock...what gives

Hello, welcome to BYC.
I feed my entire flock grower feed. I never switch as they age, I just give them calcium (oyster shell) and grit on the side. @NatJ has given you great advice on alternative food. I'd add fresh cooked fish without seasoning, to the list for protein.
