No chickens... again.

No chickens for me. I'm beyond sad.

8 years ago I joined this site. I couldn't get chickens then because of where I lived. Now we have 2+ acres where there are literally NO regulations and its just too expensive. We've looked at building coops and even into buying one used and its just not going to happen. I can't say I don't have the money, but there are just more important things to spend it on. More than 8 years I've wanted chickens. I guess it's not meant to be.

So goodbye again Backyard Chickens. Maybe someday.

@Lilion sorry you don't feel having a flock will work for you at this time. But you don't have to leave BYC, there are members here that don't currently have poultry for various reasons and they still contribute and enjoy the site. Hope you'll stick around!

You could look at building a coop from scrap lumber. I used a fare bit of free material in my coop and run build, helped to lower the cost. Best of luck, never give up!

You never know when an opportunity will fall in your lap. I managed to get a 8x8 shed for free. Keep your eye out for someone that just wants their old shed off the property. Then hire a shed mover to get it.

We moved a year ago and have no scraps. We have no choice to buy it all new.
