I have wanted to raise a few backyard chickens for years. With all that's happening lately, I feel it's urgent to get started NOW. I want to be successful and raise healthy, happy birds. I'm in an area of SoCal that gets very warm during August and September, so I want to be sure to have everything they will need before I buy my birds. I'm very green at this and really dont even know where is the best place to purchase healthy chicks or if there is a breed that does best in my location. I will be reading everything I can to find out best products and materials for their health and comfort. Also, I want to raise them organically, as those are the only eggs we eat. Can't wait to get started! All tips and support welcome!
