Hi! We’re still in research and preparation mode. We’re planning to get a variety of chicks next year, but we have a lot of work to do first. I want our coop and run to be as predator-proof as possible and DH wants it to look nice so it might take a while! We have 3 kids—2 boys (13,11) and 1 girl (5) and we homeschool. They are all excited about chickens—especially my little girl! That’s all she wants for her birthday—we might have to get her a silkie
We also have a corgi (down to 1 now) and 3 holland lop bunnies that are 12 wks old. Our corgi is a bit of a coward but that’s ok because he doesn’t mind all the new creatures we’ve brought into the house...new baby, rats (yes, pet rats and I adored them), bunnies...and I’m sure he’ll like the chicks too! I’ve already gotten loads of info from BYC and look forward to getting more. Thanks for letting me be a part of this great community!!
