I've thought he was a roo but still never crows.

This next one I swear a hen, but face got really red. Now I think Roo but a friend said hens get red before they lay?

The top one is a rooster. How old is the black one (with feathered feet)? Yes, hens will get red in the face before they lay which is why I am asking about age.

eta: IF the bottom one is 5 months, she should be laying soon.

First one is a rooster, and I think the second one is, too.

First bird is a rooster. I think the second is a pullet, but we need to confirm age and maybe get a better comb shot.

The top bird is a cockerel. I think the second is a pullet close to laying. Cockerels typically start laying from 4-5 months, but sometime it is considerably longer, and on rare occasions it can be nearly a year before crowing begins.

Thanks everyone!! I will let you know if I get an egg or a crow :-)

They are both definitely cockerels :( Although the first one's gender was more obvious, the second has a couple shiny and pointed saddle feathers which always indicate cockerel.
