Ok folks. I’d honestly just like anyone’s feedback they can give to me as far as if they have used them and if they consider them humane. In essence from the research I’ve done, it seems to just limit them from expanding their throat out to get a good crow. I’m in a town where I need to have so many acres of land to have a rooster, but one out of my four turned out to be a rooster. He’s one of the sweetest and docile ones. I love him to pieces and honestly plan on eventually moving to somewhere where he will be permitted. I’m considering trying this but I obviously wouldn’t want to impact his quality of life in anyway. Just wondering what everyone thinks or if they could give me any insight towards their personal experiences.

I have never used no crow collars, but hopefully someone with personal experience will come along soon. However, roosters are roosters, and they're gonna crow. I hope you find a way to keep your boy, he sounds like a real sweetheart!

I use one that I made with elastic and velco. They work, my roosters don't mind them, and the elastic allows it to expand a bit just in case. I like them. My neighbors are all close, and my rear neighbor just found out I had 13 chickens when I asked if he wanted some eggs. My coop is next to the back fence

They can work well...and not so much.
They definitely need close and frequent attention at first as they can also be fatal.

If not allowed crowers are you willing to face fines, losing the rest of your flock, and putting folks nearby at risk to losing the right the keep layers at all?

How did you make it? Although allowed roosters, I need to be proactive as i have a neighbor bent on retaliation. How do you know it's tight enough? TIA
