I set 42 eggs in 1588 genesis on the 25th of March. The incubator "hasnt really been fully coopertive" this hatch, I am rather dissapointed with it. But is it to early to dread about these eggs ?

Thanks in advance.

It's too soon to be getting worried.

You shouldn't really candle until at least day 5....day 7 is preferable. Even at 4 days you may not see anything yet.

It has only been 3 days. Were they shipped eggs? I usually give it a week to 10 days. Best of luck

Thanks for your thoughts. I think I might be over reacting a litlle at this point. I just paid a lot of money for these eggs.

Did you candle them before setting? Did you allow them to set for 8 hours before incubating?
The reason being is to insure that the air cell didn't separate. Shipped eggs should set for 8 to 24 hours before incubating because my friend told me so. LOL She said to allow them to come to room temp and also that they should settle

I did let them sit for about 5 hours. I thought if that air cell was broken it was broken. It cant "reform", can it? Its just a membrane that seperates part of the egg.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

With shipped eggs you do pay alot. I've done it too. I'm getting ready to set for the third time with shipped eggs. Not to discourage you, but here are my stats on shipped eggs. 1st one resulted in a 35 dollar rooster, 2nd one with 2 $30 cuckoo marans. I did have another one put they traveled from southeaster ohio to Columbus, Ohio to Northeast Ohio and that one cost me $40 and I got one hen. I paid 67$ this time and will be setting later tonight. Good Luck with your hatch I hope everyone of them hatch. Just give them time to grow. I've learned to back away and not candle so I don't let humidity and temp out.

I usually don't check before a week! Since my eye is not the most experienced one, it's much easier to wait and check later:) Such a shame that people seem to have a problem with shipped eggs! I just hatched 10 out of 11 eggs. The eggs came from Texas and I live in Florida. Beginner's luck maybe? It was only my second hatch:)

If they are dark eggs, it could be closer to 12 days before you might see anything.I know even just with my australorp eggs it takes a while... Patience is a prime virtue

Good Luck!
