Hey everyone. So I candled my duck eggs yesterday (day 3 and 1/2) and theres nothing. Todays day four and early this morning when it was still dark out, I got up to make sure the temperature and humidity was okay and because it was dark I could sort of see inside one of the eggs because of the light from the incubator and it still looks the same! I have read many articles that say that you can’t see development on day four all the time but these are very light colored eggs and so I was wondering why I can’t see development? If anything the most I’ve seen is the yolk getting a slightly darker orange. What now?

I hatch chicken eggs not ducks, but the idea is the same.

Keep the eggs in the incubator, and give them more time.
It's possible they are infertile. Has your drake been doing his job?

Okay. Well I don’t know if the drake was doing his job because I don’t own ducks. I picked the eggs up from a pet shop that has and enclosure outside that always has a flock of ducks in it. This time they were small white ducks with a tiny bit of tan coloring on their wings. I really couldn’t tell if there were males and females. Do you think I should wait another day or two?

Riiiighhht!
It's likely they only had females.
Definitely keep them a bit longer and see.
Day four is pretty early. Hope you get some ducklings.
Me too😞 I've wanted to hatch a chick or a duckling for soooo long. But I’ve never gotten it right so far😑 I think I may just invest in getting myself a proper incubator and ditch my homemade one. I’ll open a new thread to get suggestions on what incubator to get that small and affordable. Thanks for your help.🙂
