I am pretty new to chickens so please excuse me if I sound like a noob, I am 🤷🏻‍♀️. I took in a hen and rooster that needed some serious tlc. I got them healthy and just introduced two new hens to my little flock. My new hens have nice bloom on their eggs but now I think my hen I rescued, she is a salmon Faverolles does not have egg bloom? Is this even possible? Her eggs are porous and dry, no shine to them like the new girls eggs. They are different breeds, two new girls are midnight majesty marans. Also should note my salmon Faverolles hen had a prolapse that was corrected but does come back out periodically, I push back in and spray with Vetericyn and it seems to do the trick. I think it may be stress related. Anyways any knowledge, information, tips. Please no judgments.

I have a Blue Marans that lays the occasional “dusky” egg. About every other egg will be without bloom/shine which causes her chocolate colored eggs to look what I’ve been calling “dusky”. I’m following to see any answers or solutions.

Some birds have heavy shiny bloom, others do not.
The rough matte egg could be connected to the prolapse issue,
her parts are not working up to snuff.

I know nothing about treating prolapse.
Might want to start a new thread about it,
give all the details and pics are always good.
Ok thanks! I’ve already corrected it once. I wonder if this is an on going issue for my poor girl. Might not be good. I’ll start a new thread soon thanks Aart
