One of my 18 month Y/O White Star chickens hasn't laid in weeks and this morning I noticed that she laid a soft shell egg like I've never seen before (see picture) and she's had poop around her bum for a few days.
She doesn't look underweight, is moving around ok, though has just gone back into a nest box for the second time today after laying the soft shell egg.
She's not molting (and hasn't yet molted).
I gradually introduced 4 new chickens to the flock 4 weeks ago. She used to be fairly near the top of the pecking order but seems a bit more submissive these days. I have 4 turkeys which are sited next to the chickens but they are kept separate.
I use flubenvet in their feed every 6 months or so. I've recently been battling with red mites but I think that's largely under control.
As a side note, my Cheshire Blue stopped laying about 6 months ago and she's about the same age (18months).

It could be a lash egg as @chickens really mentioned.
Do you still have that egg? If you do, can you cut it open and show us what the inside looks like?
Have you ever had a respiratory illness in your flock?

If your girl has not laid in weeks and is not molting along with the description of her behavior, I would be inclined to think she is having reproductive problems. Salpingitis (lash egg), EYP, cancer and tumors can be common in laying hens.

Thanks for your help everyone. I'll continue to keep an eye on her but if she doesn't start laying in the next few weeks or if she shows signs she's worsening, I'll make a call on dispatch as the birds are purely for eggs.

I don't have the egg anymore :-(

Are you sure that was a shell less egg? It’s hard to see in the photo, but I think it looks more like a lash egg, too.
If your girls are only for eggs (not pets), I probably wouldn’t bother trying treatments and would consider putting her down. If it’s just shell less eggs, it might be worth trying calcium citrate for a few days.
