Nugget has been giving an egg a day for two weeks ( minus 1 day) and all of a sudden, she's stopped. no egg in two whole days, and not today either.. i noticed her walking up and down her ladder a lot earlier, could there be something wrong? she doesn't seem to want to stay in her coop long enough to lay, unless she's sleeping. can anyone help?

Sometimes they stop just because they feel like it. Make sure your girl is healthy (e.g. no visible parasites, that she's eating/drinking/pooping normally) and do some searches on BYC for signs/symptoms/treatment of eggbound hens (just in case). Beyond that, not much you can do. At any given time our most frequent layers will take a few days to a few weeks off. They're not machines, so they do sometimes take a breather.

okay, i wasn't sure if they usually took more than two days or so, but i will check her for bugs/diet/movement problems, just in case!
and i'll look up egg-bound symptoms! <3 thanks!!

Oh yes, they can shut down for days, weeks, months....forever (rare unless they're quite a ). I don't know about your weather, but it's been super hot here lately and our EE hasn't laid in two weeks as a result. She did the same thing last year. Our BR hasn't laid since she molted last autumn; no idea why....everyone else is laying like champs and they all live, eat, spend all of their time together, soooooo.......

well, i just cleaned out her coop, and noticed her comb looked faded to more pink than normal, so i looked it up, and she's probably molting. says they stop laying, act funny and stop laying when they molt! so, i guess thats all! :) thanks for the help!!
