No egg then soft egg

Hi I’ve posted in another thread but looking for advice. We have an 8 month old French copper Marans that’s been laying perfectly beautiful dark strong eggs. They’re on layers pellets with oyster shell and occasional egg shell but we’ve never seen soft eggs. Then 3 weeks ago she seemed poorly. We thought she was egg bound. Have her Epsom Salts bath, extra egg shell. She did a huge poop then slept rest of day and next day right as rain but no eggs. Then today we found one of them running round with this. It’s too big to be the CCL and the other has laid so could this be her starting to lay again?

any possible explanation. Thoughts. We’d done parasite and worm treatment. Kept treats too absolute minimum, sunflower seeds mostly. She seems bright and calm

We had to cull her. After the soft egg every day she acted like she was going to lay and egg, she’d sit for a couple hours and do an egg song. Come out and announce it. This went on for 2 weeks. She wasn’t broody as fast as I could see it’s being described, still going round normal activities for most of the day except the phantom laying. But then she started sitting on the others eggs and then refusing to let them get into the nesting box. She was getting louder and louder and on Friday the distress from all 3 birds was painful for everyone. She was distressed, they couldn’t get in to lay. It was bedlam and because of lack of answers and a vet that has no clue we decided we couldn’t bear to watch it anymore! Peace reigns again. We’ve been through a big learning curve. I wish I knew what had happened as she did so well from Jan to Mid April laying lovely eggs.
